Netan Ghai 

Biography

Netan is constantly searching for ways to learn and grow as an industry professional within the investment industry. Since his early childhood, Netan has taken on additional responsibilities and challenged himself in any way possible. Each year has been full of setting goals and strategic planning for the years to come. Netan excelled within high school sports as he was the captain of the Claremont Boy's basketball teams for 4 years straight. His leadership on and off the court has molded him into a passionate and dynamic business student at the Gustavson School of Business. During his 4 years of university, Netan has taken on additonal volunteer efforts to give back to his community and school program. His obtained relevant work experience and interests have been focused alongisde a strong passion for finance and looks to pursue a career in Wealth Management.

For Netan, giving back to the community has been a major goal. The ability to learn and grow personally while making the world around him a better place has been a great satisfaction. Netan earned 2 valuable positions in the Commerce Students' Society. The first was, Director of Athletics and then second he was voted by fellow classmates to represent their opinions as the 4th Year Representative on the Board of Advisors. He has been heavily involved with the campus to ensure students coming in the following years can benefit from his contributions. Netan also has coached the Grade 9-10 Boys basketbal team at his former high school, Claremont Secondary and been an avid volunteer with the Canadian Blood Services. Netan has done what it takes to make the community a better place and has grown from every experience. 

Netan has looked to grow each and every step along his career path. In his 3 internships, Netan has made a strong mark within the banking field. Scotiabank, has been the institution for his growth. He began as a Customer Representative in 2012; transitioned into a Financial Advisor position; and after successful performances in both roles he earned the opportunity to move to Vancouver and work within the Private Investment Counsel business line of Scotia Wealth Management (1832 Asset Mangement L.P.). Netan has grown into an individual who simply enhances business operations in any role he pursues. As an ambitious individual, Netan will look to keep learning and keep finding ways to contribute in the field of his choice.

Upon the completion of his Bachelors degree, Netan has entered in the CFA program to further his education. He completed his Canadian Securities Course (August 2014), the Conduct & Practices Handbook (November 2015) and continues to seek additional courses that will advance his investment knowledge. Within 6 years, Netan also looks to enroll in a MBA program at a top Canadian university. Career wise, Netan continues to play an integral role for Scotia Wealth Management in growing its Private Investment Counsel business line.
